Electronics Design Engineer (Optoelectronics)
Lumai is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer (Optoelectronics) to join our Oxford-based team.
As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will develop critical optoelectronic transceivers for our optical processor. You will take responsibility for the PCB-level design, simulation, and testing of bespoke modules for highly parallelised optical data transmission and processing.
Working closely with our team of talented engineers, you will have the opportunity to guide your projects from prototype to production-ready.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the PCB-level design, layout, simulation, and performance testing of energy-efficient optical transceivers for optical computing.
- Deliver a PCB-level optical transmitter module with desired performance and assist in the design of the corresponding optical receiver module.
- Contribute to overall system architecture design and crucial performance optimisation.
- Collaborate with team members to build a complete optical processor.
- Innovate and develop IP.
- Work closely with suppliers and external partners.
- Participate in and lead group activities, including representing Lumai at events.
REQUIREMENTS
- A degree in optoelectronic engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant industry working experience.
- Experience with the following:
- PCB-level optical transceiver (or relevant analogue/mixed-signal) design and development.
- Optoelectronic components such as lasers, laser drivers, amplifiers and data converters.
- Relevant electronic design automation software (e.g., Keysight ADS)
REMUNERATION
Competitive remuneration package across salary, share options and benefits.
